September 13, 2007
Today, I met with the student that I was going to work with for this semester.  We went outside and sat under the tree, and we began to share family stories.  My student had some very heart-breaking stories to share with me.  I shared with her my sory about my Grandfather.  
 
September 20, 2007 
Mrs. Bradshaw went over the requirements for this writing project with both her students and the UNM students.  This was very helpful. 
 
September 27, 2007 
I was assigned one student to discuss family stories with.  My student discussed several family experiences.  We bubble clustered her ideas and she decided on a story for the following week.
 
September 4, 2007  
Today my student I re-visited her bubble cluster.  We went over the order events took place and number her bubbles.  She decided that she would like to make this story into a chapter book.  My student then began to dictate her story to me.  I wrote until it was time to go.  I really am establishing a relationship with this child. 
 
October 11, 2007  
The writing process is really taking off with my student.  She does have to be prompted from time to time to describe her ideas, but other than that she is a great storyteller!
 

October 18, 2007  

Today, we did our first peer editing session. We paired up with another teacher/students team which allowed for more input from my student's peers.  My student had me read her story and then we asked for suggestions.  One of the suggestions was to make the people in her story charcters.  So, my student and I worked on creating names for the people in hear story.  This was a lot of  fun!

 

October 25, 2007

This week I attented the lecture by Ricky Lee Allen instead of having a normal class session.  His presentation was very Untresting.  He had some good points, but I did question some of his ideas.  It was nice of him to come and visit us and hopefully he will come back in the future.     


November 8, 2007

This was my final day working with my student because she moved.  We worked on her illustrations and we created a biography for her.  I was really disappointed to see her go.

November 15, 2007

Ms. Bradshaw just received a new student.  I talked to him about his journey to Farmington, N.M.  I typed the information and Frances later created a poem with the information I collected from this student!  Yeah ! )

November 29, 2007

Today each student had the oppurtunity to get up in front of the class and read his/her story aloud.  I loved being able to sit back and listen to their creative stories.
